Even the most finiky eaters at thanksgiving loved this recipe. It was light, sweet, creamy, and the flavors worked really well together. It dies taste a lot like sweet potato pie without the pie shell. I did leave off the nuts from the top (due to allergies. There were some at dinner who suggested marshmellows on top. I may try that next time.

I made this recipe for thanksgiving and everyone loved it! My husband and niece thought it was good enough to be in a pie. I added marshmallows to the top before completely taking it out of the oven, I will definitely make this again. Thanks

I think my family just doesn't like sweet dishes, but this was a good dish in general. I don't think i held in the oven long enough because the top wasn't crunch only hard. Its good if you like yams!

My family and I didn't really like this recipe. I love sweet potatoes, but this recipe didn't cut it for me. There wasn't a lot of flavor to it. My husband suggested using croutons instead of pecans. I think it will be a long while before we try this recipe again. Maybe I'll add more brown sugar and some marshmallows next time too.

The casserole turned out great. We added some marshmallows on top at the end.

This sweet potato casserole was perfect- not too sweet, light and airy. My family loved them with their Easter ham. I even made them ahead of time, put them in the refrigerator (minus the pecans then before dinner put on the pecans and baked them as directed. They were wonderful.

For years I have tried different recipes and they all were pretty much the same. Then I went to my daughter's for Thanksgiving and this dish was a "Big Hit". There was only a spoonful left but I took it home. It was nice and creamy and not to buttery...which is the way I like it. Even my children ate it and as a rule they don't touch it. I have to give this recipe 2 thumbs up! I will make it for Christmas. Thank You!!!

Be sure the sweet potatoes are fully cooked to avoid lumps when mashed. Add extra brown sugar and/or add a bit of maple syrup if you want them sweet. A bit of fresh ginger may be interesting.
