Even with a few adjustments for friends with health issues, this dish is still a sar.

Even though I didn't particularly like sweet potatoes, but my family and I tried it over Thanksgiving 2 years ago, and now every time we have sweet potatoes I am asked to make this recipie. Now we do with out the pecans. What I do to cut back on the time in the oven, I boil the potatoes first to cook them, then mash them like regular potatoes. (using a blender. Then combine all the ingredients and spread in the pan, then put marshmellows in then put it in the oven to melt them and heat through.

This recipe was fantastic, I happened to be visiting relatives on Easter and they served this with their ham dinner...I was skeptical about trying it because I can't stand sweet potatoes but I took some because I didn't want to offend the chef. I ate my "tablespoon" portion and then went back for more! It was like I was eating a dessert not a vegetable! It is sweet and buttery and the pecans gave it that extra something with a great crunch! It was so good I asked for the recipe and was sent here...Now my family will be enjoying this great recipe on Thanksgiving!

My family really enjoyed it, I did however add a little more brown sugar, cinnamon, and ginger. I thought it was a nice change to sweet potatoes and marshmellos.

There have been plenty of warnings about how this sweet potato recipe shouldn't be compared with the typical holiday variety that is super sweet...well, I tried not to do so...but I did...it's good...really...but not my favorite...they need to be sweeter (sorry.
