I made this cake for my mom's b-day this weekend. It was a hit! Delicious. The cake was easy to make, and packed so much flavor. The orange zest really flavors the cake, and the cornmeal gives it so much texture. We made the caramel sauce, however, we served it per slice, rather than on top of the cake. The caramel sauce was so decadent. We made it w/o the walnuts, and it was still so rich.. I will make this one again, and again...Thanks Giada..

I made this as a Christmas dessert for my husband's Italian family. Everyone loved it I messed up the sauce and didn't serve it. The cake itself was wonderful, not too sweet. It would also be great for breakfast with coffee. I will be making this again and again.

I don't often give my opinion on recipes, as a chef I tend to change them anyways... , I followed this to a T (well almost didn't add 1.4 c of zest only about 2 TB ... BUT made no other changes and my guests raved!!!! ( it was gone by the end of the night
Thanks for a great recipe- Note: This cake does not need the caramel sauce. It is just perfect alone or with lightly sweetened whipped cream.

this cake is truly one of the best Ive had. I had no dried cranberries so i used
fresh it was terrific. I froze this cake shortly after baking and took it out
to serve a few hours before my party. It was a huge hit..

I did notice that the recipe between the show and online were different. I restrained myself from buying cake flour because i knew the recipe online didn't call for it. the cake turned out great. i've followed giada for years and admire her personality and skills. she's never lead me wrong. thank you!!!!

I tried the recipe with the OJ, the cake caved in half way during baking...I checked on several "baking Q & A" online, it seem to point at "too wet"...Actually, I didn't think it was, but I hope Giada or Food TV can clear this out, perhaps another test in the kitchen?? The taste is very good though....

They said they had to change the recipe because of the comments before. That is why it is different.

I'm so disappointed. The recipe on TV included 1/3 C freshly squeezed orange juice - this one did not. I watched the show, but used this recipe. I watched the show again to check and wish I had checked before i baked.
also, the show uses less flour and specifies 'cake' flour.
love Giada's recipes, try them all the time, this was a gift for someone , so...

I actually used fresh whole cranberries instead of the dried cranberries because we had a bag we didn't use at Thanksgiving. This cake tasted very good with the fresh cranberries, I did not make the caramel sauce to go with the cake.
