A lot of work for little return. I followed the recipe exactly, and the casserole turned out to be a mushy mess. Flavor was okay, but the texture left a lot to be desired.

Emeril, I know you like spicy so I used 1 jalapeño. It was delicious! Also, added 1/2 pkg of sausage I had on hand. Love, love your recipe! Loved every recipe I have tried, especially your stuffed shrimp. I always use your bam spice mixtures too.

It took me a cart full of groceries and an empty wallet to find out this isn't worth it.

Emeril...you saved my Saturday dinner dilema and I profusely thank you! I made some adjustments because I was using whatever I had on hand and it still came out delish!! We do not eat mushrooms so I skipped that step all together. I used ground chicken and stovetop cooked it with chicken boulian sprinkled in, cilantro, lemon juice s&p, and garlic powder...you can really tasted these flavors in the dish. I also used a small can of mexican green sauce instead of the green chillies and jalapenos and used chopped fresh tomatoes instead of canned. Layered all this with all the other ingredients, baked it and it was a huge hit with the family...yay...another successful night of good eats!

I had roasted a chicken and had a substantial amount left so I was looking for a way to make it into a second dinner. That made it less time consuming. The chips made a really nice crust. i followed other reviewers advice and added more liquid and seasoned at each stage. Used lots of cheese because my family loves their cheese. It was very good.

This recipe may take a little time to prepare but sooooo worth it! I thought it might be too spicy hot but it actually was mild with lots of flavor. All the flavors come together bringing a very tasty dish. Family loved it and said it was a keeper.

I have to laugh about the reviews saying you can't possibly fit 12 cups of tortilla chips in a 9 x 13 pan. I poured the 12 cups in the pan and crushed them down with my hands as the directions said and it ended up being a nice 1/2 inch crust on the bottom. Those who said it's impossible....not sure why that would be. I following the recipe EXACTLY and it was out of this world. You have to wait a second to let the chips absorb the cooking liquid because when it bakes, the chips made a firm crust. Everyone raved about this recipe. For those who had trouble, you did something wrong sorry to say :

We love this recipe, but I do not include the tortillas. It takes awhile to prepare, but the dish lasts several meals.

We loved this recipe! It was a little time consuming, but it was worth it. For a special occasion or a weekend supper. I made two and gave one to a friend. The flavor was great and I really liked putting it together.

The mushroom white sauce would be really good with some pasta and grilled chicken as well. It was super yummy!
