So I think the rating of this recipe really depends on how much you like watermelon. I followed the recipe exactly and it was "meeeh"... My watermelon wasn't too sweet but it required extra syrup, lime juice and lemonade. I probably wouldn't make these again.

Yum! Made this with a bit more lime juice and a little less simple syrup and it is delicious! I would start with half the recommended syrup and add to taste, depending on the sweetness of the watermelon.

Yummm. I normally only drink plain or golden margaritas on the rocks, no salt. I also like my watermelon plain. However, this drink was divine. It took minutes to prepare because I already had watermelon cut up. I made the simple syrup using zest and a spearmint sprig from my garden. After the sugar melted I took out a T of the syrup and added an ice cube to that to cool it down. Wow, what a beautiful and delicious drink. You've converted me. I used less simple syrup than recommended but it's sweet enough for me.

Instead of spending all that time picking out the seeds, just puree it in the blender & run it thru a fine mesh strainer!! (OR if you're lucky to have a fresh & easy nearby, they have pure fresh watermelon juice! Put a few sprigs of mint in with the simple syrup while it was boiling gave a little extra fresh flavor. Easy, simple & refreshing! YUM!

My mom and I have been making these margaritas for a while now. They are especially good during the summer with a very sweet watermelon. Depending on the sweetness of the watermelon, we sometimes will leave out the simple syrup.

It was a huge hit at our 4th of July BBQ. We used the exact proportions he recommended, and we had really good quality watermelon. Everyone loved them!

I am a tequila girl, but these were not good. They also took a long time to make for a drink, with seedling a watermelon and making the simple syrup.

These were nice and refreshing. I liked that the watermelon puree was not diluted by the ice. They didn't quite have the sweet/melony flavor I was hoping for, but we still managed to knock off three pitchers.....
