This is similar to another Country's Traditonal Christmas Cookie.I find them too good to stop @1~2.So tender, spicy, powdery all over Your best clothes. One suggestion~Take the Clove Spice Piece Out,just prior to devouring.Be certain where they're placed for safety.Very pretty in the cookie as embellishment,Only.

I have never eaten kourambiedes with cloves. Typically the flavoring is vanilla and orange blossom water which you either incorporate in the recipe or sprincle after they are baked and before they are rolled in powder sugar. Typically also the nuts that go with kourambiedes are blanched and caramelized slivered almonds. Other wise they are just plain butter cookies, not kourambiedes! The ingredients are OK except that you need a little baking powder to make them rise a little and lighten up.

So easy and not too sweet. My 3 year old helped me make these. I didn't think the cloves would add much--but there is a subtle flavor added. Excellent! And I even made a mistake and put in a whole egg instead of just the yolk.

This was a super easy and yummy recipe. I followed the recipe exactly. I agree that I would put some nuts in here next time maybe some pecans.

Dear Alex,
You are great with the recipes of 'ole as far as I'm concerned. You have a great easy style in the kitchen and it's comforting to know that not everything has to be rocket-scientist difficult.
I hope you add a lot more recipes that can be downloaded. Of all the chefs, you, Melissa, and Tyler are my favorites! Of course, all the chefs are great in their own unique way!
Your dishes have a flavor and texture second to none!

I hosted a greek dinner party and I made these-everyone raved about them and had seconds... and thirds. So buttery, delicious, and easy to make. I will definitely making these again. I made them in half moon shapes, but didn't add the clove.

while i was researching this cookie, i found that some recipe's use cloves and some rosewater. guess it depends on where in greece your family is from, etc. Switch it up depending upon your mood or what is in the pantry. both versions are wonderful.
