In the course of describing the method of roasting asparagus, Tyler also mentioned a couple of alternatives: carrots with brown sugar, and zucchini with parmesan. I have made both for dinner tonight. The carrots I roasted in butter (added a little cinnamon and nutmeg, the zucchini in EVOO with just salt & pepper just like the asparagus he roasted. I parboiled the carrots for five minutes, and started roasting the carrots 15 minutes before the zukes and didn't add the cheese to the zukes until I stuck them under the broiler. Oh my God, they are both sensational. Thanks again Tyler, for making a simple offhand suggestion that turned out so amazing. I certainly intend to try more variations on the roasted veggie theme! You are a great teacher, TF!!

Loved this method of cooking asparagus! I always worry steaming asparagus because they easily get overcooked. They turned out perfectly cooked yet crisp with this recipe. Everybody loved it. Thanks

Not only is this a great recipe in and of itself, but it's also very easy to change up. I've used the technique with broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans and gotten excellent results. I've also added crushed red pepper flakes and minced garlic and gotten rave reviews from family and friends.

I never cared for Asparagus, and my Fiance hated it. We made this recipe with some hesitation simply because we were doing the two dishes that were on thie same episode already. WOW! Were we glad we made it. My fiance now asks for this recipe almost every week, and we look for good Asparagus recipes. Thanks for changing our outlook on such a healthy food Tyler.
