This is so good! It tastes like a dish served at a fine restaurant and it was easy to make. Love the flavor.

I just made this stew yesterday and it was good, maybe very good....but it lacked a certain 'something'. It was little thin like other reviewers commented. However, I'm surprised that more people didn't comment on the smoke that you can generate while browning the beef. After browning the first batch of beef, my entire apartment was filled with thick smoke even aftr turning the heat down. You can achieve the same result if you cook the beef at a lower temperature for a longer period and you won't smoke yourself out of your apartment. But all in all, it was a tasty dish.

    hey everyone,,
just thought i would rate this recipe as well..
first it was great.. but i changed a few things i didnt have dry red wine so i used what i had in my frig which was Arbor Mist's Blackberry wine,i also added 1/4 of a cup of ketchup to add a little more flavor.. i crushed the tomatoes a bit more as my husband will not eat hot tomatoe's this way he didnt know they were there.. and i needed to thicken the broth up a little more so i added a bit more flour mixed with the sauce from the stew then whisked it into the stew to thicken it up..
turned out great they are already looking for me to make more..'
i also made the Pecan Spinach salad which was a hit, didnt have the sherry vinager so i used red wine vinager instead... i cant seem to find the Sherry vinager in any of the stores...
but it all worked out great Thumbs up to Dave...
    yummy. yummy...Thanks Dave...

This stew is wonderful, very rich and bold. I normally would not serve a beef stew to my dinner guests, however this stew is so good I am making it this evening for a household of guests.

I never liked stew when I was growing up and tried Mom's recipe a few years ago and found it bland. Not this one, it was tasty, easy and we all enjoyed it! Thanks

My 20-year old daughter thinks Dave is a "total hottie." I think this recipe-and several others form this show- are totally fabulous, so we both enjoy this show!

I love this beef stew recipe. I used a really good red wine that made it just delicious. It is simple and yummy and a crowd pleaser. I will be making this recipe for years to come!
