Two and one-half cups Oatmeal possibly too much. I was in a hurry, dumped everything in a bowl as per instructions, it was like trying to stir a rock. Less Oatmeal or possibly add a box of chocolate pudding?

These are pretty dang good and actually not too bad for you! I used a 19.5 oz box of mix and, after reading other reviews, decided to add some liquid - 1/6 c brewed coffee, 1/6 c water - and the batter had a much better texture and wasn't too dry. I also substituted applesauce for the oil. I put dark chocolate chunks on top of half of the batch and I like those better than without. Next time I'll try substituting dried Craisins or cherries for the raisins and add some almonds or walnuts!

The cookies were FANTASTIC, but I think there is an error in the printed recipe. There is not enough liquid for a 22 1/2 ounce box/bag of brownie mix plus all of the oats. I think they left out an additional 1/3 cup of water.

I have made this twice. Once with the 22 1/2 ounce mix and once with a box that was 16 ounces. In both cases I had to add an equal part of water (per the recipe on the back of the box to get the moisture right. I did use 2 eggs per this recipe even if the box said one.

The oats soak up a lot of moisture! So even if you think it looks like too much liquid, wait until you add the oats. That's what firms it up and makes it hold together as a cookie.

Doing this made the perfect crispy on the outside, soft on the inside brownie/cookie. The raisins were good, but I did make them once with chocolate chips as well.

Instead of brownie mix, I had a strussel muffin mix on hand and used it. Even people who normally don't care for oatmeal cookies, loved this batch. Thanks for the idea Sandra. Lynda - Las Vegas, NV

Good Cookies, with a good ideal, A little on the dry side, and you need to add about 1/3 cup of water, and another 1/3 cup of oil. Both they are good and fairly quick. Thanks

I have been cooking and baking for years. After reading the other review, some loving this recipe and others stating it was too dry. I started thinking that maybe the cookie bakers who were stating the batter was too dry lived in a dry climate. I live in AZ. I find that many recipes I have tried require more moisure than the reciepe states. When I made this batter, it was dry. I don't use corn oil, I replaced the oil with 7 tbsp. melted butter and blumped up the raisins by letting raisens soak in water that was brought to a boil and taken off heat,to soak for 20 mim. I did have to adjust my baking time to 11 minutes. I am very happy with the results.

Although I thought they were a bit dry, they enjoyed them at work. I liked the taste. I'll try them again and substitute the raisins with either butterscotch chips, cinnamon chips, peanut butter chips or nuts. I will also use some additional liquid - water, applesauce? Overall a tasty cookie - not overly sweet. Best when fresh from the oven.
