This recipe is so easy to make and so good. My family adores curry and so I increased the amount to 8 Tablespoons plus for a little extra kick I pureed a 16 oz. jar of jalepenos and a teaspoon of cayenne. My husband Chuncky Fred was in hot curry heaven! Just a tip: sprinkle a large bag of crushed deep fried pork rind on top just before serving for a great crunch/spicy/slimy contrast.

We found this soup to have a very strong curry flavor. My husband could not eat it and I only ate one serving and threw the rest out. It was prepared to the exact recipe.

It would be good with half as much curry. So, be sure when preparing that you know the tastes of those will will be eating it.

I've made this soup for many years...since the original show aired. It's still far and away the best Split Pea Soup we've ever had.

Although I only like curry in small doses, I decided to try this since I had a package of dried yellow split peas and a brand new immersion blender. Wow!! This was one of the tastiest soups I've ever made. I received tons of compliments and this is definitely a make it again recipe!

So delicious, you won't even miss the ham/bacon that usually goes in this soup! I used a combination of green and yellow peas, the results were amazing and the curry was not overpowering at all. Way to go, AB!

We went on a cruise two weeks ago and were served split pea soup which reminded my husband of his grandmother's soup. He begged me to make it for him. I made it twice this week, this is how good it was.

I am not a big soup person myself, but the soup was delicious. I added celery to it for taste 5 minutes before turning off the stove and served it with scallions and parsley. What a treat!

This is perfect as-is. Don't fool with it. If you do, you are defeating the purpose of it. This is about as simple as you can get for good food. Those who are peeling, chopping, dirtying several pots or using the blender -- just stop. Make some other recipe. This one is about being simple, easy, and yet excellent. I loved it and it will become a regular at our house.
