This soup was great. I made it in my crock pot. I cooked the bacon down added the onion, garlic, etc. and then combined all in the crock pot. I added the cilantro near the end. Very tasty.
Next time I think I will make a double batch!

This is an awesome recipe. I halved the recipe and cooked it down just a bit too much and it turned into almost a chili. But still amazing!!! love the flavors.

Very tasty. Might go with pancetta for an easier dice, and probably only would use about 2/3rds of the suggested amount.

Absolutely wonderful!!! I added 2 limes instead of half and I used my immersion blender very briefly. This will be made over and over again!!!!

This soup is very good! I tried it before I added the cilantro and it was good either way you go. I think the next time I may not add any cilantro! And make sure you cook your bacon long enough. I don't think I did. My bacon was plain in my soup? I'm a beginnger so what can I say? :

This soup had great flavor-loved it and my husband couldn't get enough of it, but I had to improvise since I was out of a couple things the recipe calls for.
I was out of worchestershire sc, so I used A1 Steak sauce and a pinch of cumin instead, tasted amazing. I omitted the ketchup since I didn't want to take a chance of it tasting sweet. I also added 1/3 of a chopped jalepeno for a little heat, just the right amount, and i blended 1/3 of it before eating to thicken it up and smooth the texture.
The only thing I would change next time is I would cook the bacon a lot longer to ensure it's crispy, I don't like eating chewy bacon, but it added great flavor to the soup. All in all, fantastic flavor and easy to make, I will be making this again!

Ok so I know people on this site get REALLY angry when you modify recipes the tiniest bit but oh well, they will just have to suffer because the whole point of cooking is to make it suit your tastes. You don't have to literally interpret the recipe. But anyways, I made this soup today and loved it. I followed the entire recipe, except I accidentally bought vegetable broth instead of chicken broth by mistake. Oh well. Also I bought thick sliced bacon and cut it in to large chunks because I like it that way. """Insert comments about not following the recipe here**** And I added 2 packets of Goya Sazon on a whim because when I tasted it I felt it neded a little more flavor. But I like things spicy and salty so thats just me. The soup was sooo good and thick the way a good soup should be. I loved it and will definitely be making this again. Today was a rainy gloomy day so it was nice to cuddle up with a warm soup.

One of the easiest and most delicious recipes ever. My only personal change was to eliminate the cilantro (not one of my favorites and add 1 can of whole kernel corn. The corn adds a sweetness. I have made this over and over again for a hearty Saturday night dinner. Quick. Simple.
