I had high hopes for this recipes because of the great reviews, but it didn't turn out too good for me. The crust didn't stay together even though I froze it for twice as long as called for and the filling didn't really have any malt flavour to it. It was basically a chocolate bar on top of cookie crumbs.

This is the first recipe I've tried from Aida and I'm glad I did! I couldn't find the chocolate wafers like a lot of people, so instead of driving all around town, I just used oreos, regular, not double stuffed for the crust.. And I also didn't have a tart pan, so I just used a glass pie pan. This pie was so easy and delicious! The chocolate just melts in your mouth its so creamy!

Use Anna's cookies for the wafer cookies (available at World Market, any Scandinavian food stores, and also sometimes at Big Lots. They are available in many flavors and combinations, too.

This recipe turned out so plain and awful. It was the only dessert that people could not finish. All the left overs went right into the garbage. We are a bunch of chocolate lovers but this cake just tasted like a bland chocolate bar there was nothing to it other then melted chocolate. Never again will I make this tart. I don't understand whats to like about it.

went to three diffrent markets and could not find malted milk, so i used oveltine malt flavor coco mix, it was fine, but you cant eat more than a sliver of this w/o feeling sick, so make for a crowd were u can give some to every 1 and then be rid of it!!

Fantastic flavor and so easy to make. I was quit pleased that my 8 year wasn't home when I made, because then I got to lick the bowl and spatula. My only thing is that it firmed up so hard, that when I went to cut it, it broke. Maybe I stirred the chocolate to much? I too will add more malt to it next time.

MMM such a good dessert...just like you're eating a candy bar. my tip is if you don't find the cookies they call for, use chocolate graham crackers =
it gets tricky at the end mixing all ingredients before it gets too cold to melt everything but i think i have it pretty much perfected!
don't be discouraged if this recipe seems too tricky, just go for it! YUMMY!

This was very good but eating 3 candy bars would be about the same thing.
