My fiance absolutely loved this. It was a little thick for my taste, next time I will probably reduce the chocolate chips. I didn't have orange liquor, but the orange zest added a nice aroma in vanilla form, but once I added the chocolate, I couldn't taste the orange at all.

The only things I did different was used peach schnapps instead of the orange liqueir, used half cup sugar, about 3/4 cup chocolate chips, and simmered only 35 min...definitely will make again

I love love loved the foundation of this recipe. I had absolutely no problems. I did modify the recipe only because of the ingredients I had on hand. I used 2% milk, No orange zest or liqueur, Vanilla extract, 1/2 c sugar and 1/2 c chocolate chips. It is so yummy!. It has the perfect chocolate taste. Not too sweet. I think that 1 c of chips would have been way over the top. It was so much better the next day. Super creamy. Thanks Giada for a great base recipe.

I just made this after watching Giada's "Day of Indulgence" with her girlfriends ... and, I have to admit, I'm giving this recipe 4 stars because the VANILLA version is absolutely divine! Once the rice thickened (which mine took about the whole 40 minutes, I divided the pudding in half (half vanilla and half chocolate just to compare the taste, and of course, reduced the chocolate quantity quite a bit. I omitted the orange because I don't care for orange & chocolate together, but this is definitely a recipe I think I'll try all different kinds of flavors with! Also, I didn't have vanilla bean on me, so I just used vanilla extract and it did the trick! :

The recipe turned out just fine. Some of my family loved it others liked it. I used a large orange instead of medium so it was said that the orange somewhat was to strong but that it was still good. Very sweet. Even without the chocolate. I did half and half, some with chocolate and the other with out. I liked them both. Thanks Giada.

The flavor was excellent, although I used hazelnut liquor instead of orange and skipped the orange zest. I cut the recipe in half, because it was just me and my husband. It thickened up, but the rice didn't seem cooked, and it only made 2 very small (but VERY rich servings. I'm fairly certain I put a whole 2 1/2 cups milk in the saucepan...but I think maybe it boiled too long and too much of the milk evaporated. Anyway...I guess I'm going to try this again another time. Also, next time I think I may use less sugar.

I made this recipe the first time following the recipe to a tea. The chocolate was a bit much and it tasted better warm. I made it a second time omitting the chocolate all together and using lemon instead of orange. It was amazing. Warm or cold this is a great treat! Don't cool for too long, it does get very firm.
