Who cares where this recipe comes from!!! People have nothing better to do with there time but act a*****about BS that DO NOT MATTER. No body cares who came up with the recipe first. If the Rum folks don't care why should YOU!!!! But anyway the cake is a great recipe!!!

Lighten up folks! Once the point was made about a previous publication of the recipe, it did not have to be made again and again. I use many of my mother's recipes; I don't always know which were her creation and which were from backs of packages, magazines, or friends. As long as everyone is buying their rum, I'm sure the folks at Bacardi don't care. If they did, Sandra would have heard from their legal department about infringing on their intellectual property!

I have been making this cake for almost 20 years. This recipe is from Bacardi. It's delicious, but it's not ethical to call it someone else's recipe. Anyone can search for it on the internet.

To be able to cook or bake sometimes u might start with someone else's recipe, but end up adding your own flavor...for instance I took out the walnuts and added pinapple chunks anywhere it asked for water, and made this cake with and with out pudding...and its great espicialy when u add the pinapple chunks to the glaze makes it much prettier....

I think my buzz is wearing off rght about now. I used Bacardi Gold and wow too strong! Used the full (1 small package = 3.2 oz of instant pudding which didn't seem to matter in the cake. Won't be making that again, unless I boil off a lot of the flavor.

I have been making this cake for over a decade. The original recipe is found on the Bacardi web site. My paper copy of the recipe is yellow with age. Whoever Sandra chose to be on her show to share this recipe is not truthful about the recipe. She plagarized it from Bacardi. It is NOT an original recipe. Anyone can verify tihis information. Go to the Bacardi web site.
Come on, Sandra - doesn't someone at your show do some homework on recipes presented as original?

I forgot to get pudding so I replaced the water, 1/4 oil and pudding in the recipe with 3/4c fat free yogurt, It turned out delicious!
