On her show she mentioned using the crab filling inside Flounder, so i did!
It was SOoooo good! I made a white sauce like you do for regular stuffed flounder(that was poured over the stuffed flounder and added some soy sauce to flavor it in an asian way . would suggest maybe substituting regular mayo for a few tablespoons of the Wasabi mayo if you have little ones who don't like it too hot. But this was beautiful in presentation and my dinner guests LOVED it!

The crab salad portion of this recipe is decent (especially if you splurge on fresh crab, but I really hate the idea of the tortillas. I tried them to give it a chance, but it just tasted "wrong" so to speak.
Don't worry though, there is still a semi-homemade way to make these if you don't want to make real scallion pancakes. It's just as easy, if not easier to fry up some store bought wonton skins with scallions in between, and the taste and texture is immensely improved. I like to shape mine into little cups for ease of eating, but they work fine left flat as well.

Both my boyfriend and I loved these. The tortilla discs were super easy to make. I couldn't find wasabi mayo (didn't look too hard though so used regular mayo and added wasabi to our taste. (You can find a lot of good Asian products, including Wasabi, at Cost Plus World Market and they are very inexpensive. I even whip up a batch to make in a wrap. Very, very good with a little kick from the wasabi!

I love the idea of mini tortilla scallion pancakes, I just don't think that the crab in the can worked so well. I think an imitation crab my have worked better, it's more colorful and seems more appetizing when real fresh crab meat is unavailable or too time consuming. The flavor just didn't burst well. I used the mini tortillas to make mini pizzas that were great for kids.

Nothing special. I think it needed some cream cheese for flavor. I made with shrimp, cream cheese, & mayo. It was better.

Most of my guests thought this was a mexican dish. The few that tried it were very surprised.

and it was so good, so I'm glad to have great recipe thinker uppers like Sandra Lee around to think up thoughtful recipes for me. I'd be serving my guests cheese and crackers at every get together if it weren't for creative culinary people. So thanks!
