The bread was not sweet at all. It smelt so good cooking and looked great when it was done but the taste was terrible.

The bread was moist but tasteless. Couldn't tell that it was applesauce bread. If I were to make this bread again, which I won't, I would add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of the cinnamon, vanilla and allspice.

I made the recipe exactly as Paula did so that I could rate it fairly. VERY disappointed as others were. True, it was not sweet. No problem. Bland and boring were also part of the alphabet. The creamy apple butter was easy and tasty but did NOTHING for the bread. This was to be a surprise for a bake sale. Glad I was surprised first. I can now search other recipes......

I don't understand the complaints with this recipe. I followed the recipe and had no problems at all. In fact my wife, son, and daughter loved it so much, I've made it 2 more times in the last 3 days.

Mine is a little dry, but I like that it's not that sweet. It crumbles a little. I'm not sure that I'll make it for company again, but I think they'd be great to make as muffins and freeze for a quick breakfast.

It turned out kind of dry...
I've had other recipes that were better.
    Probably won't keep this one.

I made this bread and was disappointed. It sounded very appealing. It was dry, no sweetness at all, was heavy. Ended up throwing it out.
