When my husband and I were dating, this was the first dinner I made for him and he was thrilled. I make a double batch of the sausage patties and keep them in the freezer for a quick breakfast. Sometimes I add chopped pecans for a change and ground turkey works just as well.

The sausage tasted like stuffing. I will stick to traditional pork sausage for the future. I followed the recipe from the show so I did include saute onions, hot sauce and chives in the eggs but the sausage was just weird!

I like the flavor of sausage but not all the "stuff" that you find in it, so this recipe was a welcome delight. I make my patties and then slice each one into about 5 pieces , pop them into the freezer in ziplock bags -then we have sausage "links" for the coming weeks. I think the flavor is absolutely yummy!

I'm not sure what recipe some of the previous reviewers were making, (onions??? but this was very quick, easy, and my family loved trying to guess the ingredients in this savoury-sweet breakfast. We used Italian whole wheat thinini buns which were a perfect size. Next time I will use a little less maple syrup and maybe try a smoked cheddar cheese.

    Excellent!

I guess everyone has their own tastes, but I really don't know how someone could think this didn't taste good. Those who thought it was hard to make, gross or bland surely must not have made it correctly. I thought this recipe was a cinch to make and very delicious. I didn't use onion and I didn't saute anything beforehand. I used 1/2 of a large honeycrisp apple (diced. I just threw everything in a bowl and mixed it up. I made 5 patties out of a 20 oz package of chicken. I also used McCormick Monterey Chicken Grill Seasoning. Using grill seasoning specifically for chicken may have made a positive difference in flavor.
Anyway, that's my take on it.

This recipe sounded and looked fantastic. It even smelled fantastic. The taste, however, left something to be desired. It would work in a pinch, but it is definitely not something I will make again.

My boyfriend and i tried this recipe one night and it was absolutely horrible! I love Rachel Ray, and cannot believe this recipe was on her show! I would not make this again.

I was a bit put off watching Rechal make this on her show, when I saw how dirty her fingernails were when she was chopping the onion. The sausage was alot of work and the patties were huge. I would have done better to buy maple sausage at the regular old grocery store. These were a mess to eat, and the cheese flavor didn't go well with the maple. There sure were alot of things to wash afterwards, so much for the AM rush.

I gave these a try on my husband and his brother one weekend expecting to be eating the leftovers myself for 3 more days, but they loved this! I'll use a little less nutmeg next time.
