We loved this recipe. My husband and I left the table satisfied and had enough for my husbands lunch today. Too spicy for my 8 year old, so I cooked some shrimp separately for his dinner. Highly recommend. One thing, I didn't use the beer or orka. Instead, I used chicken stock and asparagus. (I had on hand I only had regular polenta which took 20 minutes to make, but worth it. Yummy, will make again for sure!

Easy to follow recipe. My husband and I loved it with the grits, My daughters would have prefered it with rice. Will cook it again. Was a great one bowl comfort food dish for my family.

What?!?!? Don't tell me that I've been missing out on shrimp and grits all these years! This recipe was awesome. Don't know about the 30 minutes though, took about an hour with prep time. Regardless, the recipe was really good. My wife and I truly enjoyed it and my 6 year old twins were satisfied as well (and they are definitely hard to please.

We loved this recipe and with a few changes, tailored it to my family. I used a large hole grater and grated the vegetables. This works well if you have kids who don't like chunky veggies. I also substituted crushed tomatoes for the diced. Because I did that, I put it over brown rice so there would be some texture to it. The resulting dish was wonderful. The chewiness of the rice complemented the other ingredients. My husband asked me to make it again and my son, 2 years old, had seconds.

i served mine with cheesy grits, but mine came out a bit gloupy so would reduce the flour next time and added tomato paste too for a deeper colour and flavour. The next day it was tastier and served it with cous cous so it pretty much goes with any starch you have in the cupboard.

Really good. Even my husband who is a picker eater when it comes to trying something new, loved it. I followed the recipe right on, except I did not have any beer and I can't stomach okra. But it still came out wonderful. The grits were so creamy and tasty. served it with a side of fresh green beans.
