A friend recently made this to share at a pot luck dinner. It was amazing. The cake was quite 'rummy' though I had no complaints about that. The crunchy topping contrasted beautifully with the moist cake. I would recommend it.. especially if you get a friend to make it!!!!

Geez, people! No need to be degrading. You all need some of Paula's Southern Charm. Mary asked a valid question. Not everone is a seasoned baker. In the beginning I followed letters to the "t" and would have been just as confused. Yes, Mary, go ahead and add the oil at the same time as the other ingredients (eggs, cake mix, etc.. And disregard the snide comments. Just imagine Paula cheering you on! You go, girl!!

The 1/2 cup of oil listed for the batter is not mentioned in the directions. When and where is it added to the batter??
Cake reads so deliciously; would love to make it!!
