These taste really good, but totally only needs about 15 min of cooking if you are using a mini-cookie scooper and even less if you are doing the tsp full. I found that using a fork was easier for pressing the lines in the dough than a knife, but either way I wasn't very good at it and mostly stuck with putting the pecans in the center, which looks very cute.

The cookies taste wonderful though!! I absolutely love the ground pecans, it makes all the difference.

Good luck to the next person, and if you find a better way to cut the design, please post it!

    Merry Xmas!!

These have become a "must make" every Christmas! They are so easy, and so good! Second year I have made them, and they come out perfect every time! I love the buttery, nutty taste, and they are so pretty! I use they pecan halves on top for a cute presentation.

Way to much of a butter taste. I would suggest cutting the butter ingredient in half. That much butter should not be needed, it ruins the flavor.

These cookies were so easy to make! and so buttery good! They make a really pretty presentation on a plate of Christmas cookies too! I opted to put a pecan half on each cookie, gently pressing it into the dough. They look like little buttons! I took some to my parents to try and they also LOVED them and my mom asked for the recipe. I highly recommend this delicious cookie fbe added to your list of "must makes"!

I think these could have had a bit more flavor. They just tasted of butter-- and boy is there a LOT of butter in them. I didn't realize that it was a shortbread; was blinded by the exotic-sounding sherry. Probably won't make them again.

These are really very easy to make and taste pretty good. I didn't feel like purchasing sherry so I used a robust red wine and it was delicious. Try it! Make a really nice Christmas cookie

Smooth and wonderful shortbread cookies that are neither run of the mill nor boring. I make a minimum of ten different kinds of cookies each December. I've made these every every year since published on the 12 days of cookies list and they disappear from my cookie jar faster than any other cookie.

This recipe was easy to make and the cookies turned out like a professional made them. I received a number of requests for the recipe.

These were good and I liked the sherry and the fact they were different than other recipies. They just weren't over the top great like I expected a top 12 cookie to be. I wouldn't add it to my must make every christmas list.

I made these for my Christmas gift boxes and they came out really good - rich and buttery. I wanted to make the pretty cuts as per the pictures, but the soft dough kept sticking to my knife, so I had to do the half pecan on top instead. Otherwise, they were very easy to make and worked exactly as per the recipe. I will definitely make these again, although they are more of a crunchy cookie and my family is more of a soft cookie group. Perhaps I'll try baking them a little less next time to see if they soften up. Thanks guys, this is a keeper!
