Great recipe had to try it out after watching it. Not very hard at all and a great meal to have for leftovers! I did add some olives to my rice, just how I remember Spanish rice growing up.
And for those that never heard of pigeon peas google them!
I'm sure you've heard or seen some Goya products, if not they will most likely been in your latin/ethnic isle in your grocery store. Goya always has pigeon peas or gandules around.

I absolutely LOVE BIG DADDY! And I can tell he can cook cause my mouth is watering as I'm watching him at work,lol. Plus on the show with Paula, you just cant loose watching them work their real Magic!

I lived in Puerto Rico as a child and this dish is so reminiscent of the dishes there. Pigeon Peas (gandules, rice, sofrito, adobo! I cant wait to try this!

Very tasty and super easy. Everyone loved the rice too. I changed from green to red onion only because thats what l had on hand. The rice, well l had left over rice from the day before and just passed it through hot water and refired it with the 3 Tb of the red peper mixture added a little more seansoning and voala...super easy super good and super saving money. Defintly make this agian.Love your show Paula and your laughter picks anyone up from a bummy mood. Girl keeo on smiling and laughing you make everyone happy.

The Pork Shoulder came out great.I have a spanish house keeper that was questioning me making that sauce and putting in on it;but once made everything turned out perfect. The only thing I could not find (even in spanish outlets was pigon peas. I used green peas instead and it worked good. I did find Pigon Peas on line and could order them...but not worth it.

My family loved this recipe! I didn't have pork shoulder so I used fajita marinated pork from HEB. Cooked it for an hour in the oven and it came out perfect. The pork was so juicy and tender and the rice was so flavorful! The sofrito really makes this dish a winner!

Low and slow is the way to go, I made my own rub with brown sugar, cummin, tyme, black pepper, red pepper, and garlic powder but I will try this recipe in all its exactness soon.
