This was delicious....I used 2 oz of Old Bay and skipped the pepper. This is a great party dish too! definitely adding this to my list of dishes

I love shrimp. And I love shrimp salad. But me and my whole family couldn't get past the mayo with rice mixture. It turned out ok, but I'd prefer using noodle instead of mayo in this recipe. But since it was one of Paula's recipes, I had to try it because we just love her.

I agree with comments that the dish was somewhat bland. I slowly added curry powder until the right amount was determined. The result was a much improved dish. Try it.

I adore Old Bay!! However, the packages I have of it are 2oz and 6oz, neither of which is what is meant, I'm sure! So, how much in a package? Maybe 1 teaspoon? I don't recall ever seeing Old Bay available in packets at the grocery store, just the big tin and the smaller take-it-with-me size. Other than that, this recipe sounds quite tasty!

I made this recipe and my family loved it,I was so surprised because my father he is 81 yrs old and always critizes my food, well to please him you had to have great flavor and this recipe did all that.

To Nicole in Washington, you have to be more flexible in flavors. I cook, Argentinia, Russian, Italian and Bulgarian food, because I am a mix of those countries, the only thing is I am not Italian my husband is, but I love to cook and experiment. He call me Paula Deen and sometimes Julia Child.

    LOVE YOU PAULA

P.S. I have all your books and your sons' and I always find something new to make.

Disappointed after such rave reviews. Basically tastes just like it sounds it will. Took it to a potluck and received only one complement.

Would rather not waste 2lbs of shrimp with a bunch of mayonnaised rice!

Also, I had to add cajun seasoning to kick it up, but even then, it still seemed lacking.

Prepared last year during a trip in the Florida Keys. The recipe was a big hit with our family and they have requested that we have it again for our trip this year.
My wife Virginia and I are native Sanannahians and delite in the low country recipes we enjoyed in our youth. Our kids and grandyoungins are especially fond of Paula's Southern receipes and TV show.

Great combination of flavors especially with the olives. You can add other ingredients to the basic recipe so that it's different every time.

I liked this recipe, but I gave it a 4 because I felt like it was missing something. I'm not quite sure what, though. My husband really liked it!
