This pie is so very good and very easy to make. The only changes I made were, I did not put in the alcohol and I used 1 1/2 tablespoons of corn starch. Plus, I made a homemade pie crust. This is a keeper!!

I am not a big baker, so this recipe was great for me. I would change a couple things however. I used limon cello instead of kirsch. It adds some tartness to it. I only had frozen strawberries, so I used a little less than the recipe called for- I thought that worked great. Also, the canned cherry filling.... This is what makes it taste store-bought for all those folks who commented on that. Take the extra 20 minutes of preptime, buy some cherries, put them in a saucepan with butter, sugar, and a little water, and make a cherry reduction. You can do this ahead of time and refrigerate it. This will make a huge difference, and it really isn't hard at all. I like the simplicity of this recipe a lot. The concept can be made into many variations. Give it a try!

What a snap!. I used frozen dark sweet cherries (16 oz. and a can of light cherry pie filling. I love the mix of the bright red and dark cherries. I didn't have cherry liqueur so I used amaretto instead and a drop of almond extract. I make my own woven lattice top with my scalloped cutter...presentation is everything after all. Ten minutes later and the pie is in the oven.

I made this pie a few months ago. I thought that it taste excellent and adding the berries made it different from just a regular old cherry pie from the store. However, I had to roll out all the dough and found it more difficult than I expected. I would recommend this recipe to most people wanting to make an American classic. This dessert would be great for the Fourth of July or other summer cook out.

I have to say that this went over really well in my house. I only got 2 bites before it was gone! I didn't have any cherry liquor so I did put a splash of vanilla in instead. Also, I didn't have a pie plate, so I baked it in a square glass dish. It actually turned out to be more like a cobbler than a pie, which was fine for us. It turned out wonderful! Perfectly sweet, perfect crust and was super easy! Will definately make again/

    alcohol in a cherry pie?

made it for fun with a little faith that you're not as bad as people make you as, but this was just the worst piece of pie ever made. followed instructions the filling was horrible and runny.

i'm starting to question whether SL actually makes the final product on her show.

i know she's good at making her cocktails though... lol then again that's not enough to cover a segment.

This pie was awesome! I didn't have an kirsh, so I just used 1 teaspoon of vanilla. It was very easy to make. I took it to work the next day and my coworkers loved it!! It tasted like I spent hours making the pie, but it was only about 5 minutes. I will definitely make this again.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I didn't expect too much. But I have to say although I couldn't rate it a 5, it wasn't bad! I didn't have the kirsch, so made it without. The recipe also didn't say whether or not to thaw the berries (I didn't. It couldn't have come together any easier, it looked very nice, and with ice cream on the side, was a very nice dessert!
