I made this recipe in anticipation of it being delicious. I had to throw it out. I would have taken it to work because they will eat anything, but just could not. I still love you Paula.

It was very good. After reading other reviews, I did caramelize the onions before adding them to the casserole and added red pepper flakes for a little bit of a kick. It turned out great!

I made this recipe for 3 people, and adjusted it for my vegan husband, using vegetables instead of meat. We all loved it!!

Please give us more, like it!!

I doubled this recipe as I had an excess of ham and chicken from a Thanksgiving weekend. My kids live with their dad and when my daughter came to visit all I had left to eat was the leftovers of this dish. Apparently, I didn't have enough for her as she gobbled it up so quickly that she was ready to make more. It's a rich dish but so worth it!

I added an 8-ounce carton of sour cream.

Sauteed the onion WITH one green pepper chopped and 3/4 red pepper chopped and lots of garlic.

Sprinkled the chicken with cayenne before sauteeing it.

Added about 1 tablespoon of cayenne when mixing the ingredients.

    Used smoked sausage.

Stirred 2 cups Parmesan cheese into the mixture, then topped it with an additional 1 cup Parmesan cheese.

this recipe turned out to be very tasty and fast after I cut all the ingredients in half for my small family and swapped the angel hair for multi-grain penne. I also forgot to put in the onion and was glad I did because it would have probably still been crunchy when it was time to take it out. I also forgot the sour cream like on the show but it was still creamy and cheesy.

Of course I should have read the reviews first, because I missed the sour cream. However where is the Food Networking editing dept? Beside this error, I found that 1lb of pasta is way too much and overpowers the dish, I would reduce this by 1/3 of what was indicated. Otherwise very bland indeed.

I notified food network AND Paula Deen's website about the discrepancy in the shows recipe for this and whats shown. Paula's website corrected it ( thanks Miss Cassie sadly, food network has not.
    pound angel hair pasta
2 cups cooked chicken, off the bone
2 cups cooked sausage, cut 1/2-inch thick
    2 cups cooked ham, cubed
    1 large yellow onion, chopped
    2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
    16 ounces cottage cheese
    1/2 cup sour cream
    3 chicken bouillon cubes
    1 cup hot water
1 to 2 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
Parm is added to the top before adding to the oven.
I used Andouille sausage and it still needs some heat. Be sure you caramelize the onions ( thy don't soften in the casserole I think next time I will make half the recipe...it makes enough to feed an army...and add roasted garlic, drain the cottage cheese and add red pepper flakes

Even Paula can make some "no keeper" recipes and this was one of them. It was tasteless and really starchy. The recipe did not indicate sour cream like the TV show. Even cutting the pasta in half wouldn't help this recipe come to life.
