first time i ever had cookies like this great taste, and makes a lot
more filling than u need for 2 batches so make 2 batches of the pastry dough
the only thing it needs is power sugar or glaze on top
i changed the recipe just a little i had fresh fig syrup so i used it not the honey more fig flavor so u cant go wrong lol

Yesterday I made these cookies. So good! Thank you Giada! All of her recipes are great! I just changed the filing a little bit. I used ground almonds, cardamom and confectionary sugar. After they were baked I roled them in more confectionary sugar. They turned out so good even though it was the first time I made them. Next time I'll try walnut and cinnamon. Yummy!

I made these cookies today and thought I would save them for Christmas but they are soooo good, I doubt they'll last until then. I will have to make another batch. I poured honey over the cookies after they cooled off. yummie!!!

Delicious cookie! Just like I remember from my Italian Aunts in South Philly! The recipe makes a lot of filling though; I found myself making an entire extra batch of dough to use it all up. I would halve the filling recipe for one batch next time. Also, to make them festive looking for Christmas, I sprinkled the egg washed cookies with some nonpareils before baking.

These are great cookies. The cinnamon in the filling adds an unusual note, very different and most complimentary. Like little turnovers, they travel beautifully and keep quite well. A must for afternoon tea. Try them, you will not be disappointed

These were great -- and different. I do have a lot of filling, so I'm making another batch this weekend. A definite "keeper".

Giada, thanks so much for this recipe!
It's almost exactly what my Sicilian mother made every Christmas. Unfortunately, I never got the recipe before she passed away.
I didn't dream they'd be as good as hers but they were even better.
I love your show and your recipes. Always great tasting and easy enough for novices to make.
