A great recipe, perfect and better than anything I've ever had before. And anybody that thinks thyme tastes like dirt is nuts.

So much better than dip made with powdered onion soup! I cooked the onions until they were completely carmelized, added the garlic towards the end of the cooking process and used light sour cream and light cream cheese. It tastes even better the next day. This will definitely be making an appearance again at our next family gathering.

This turned out awesome. I changed it up a bit by what some of the comments stated. Used 2 beef cubes, sweet onions, red wine/water, oregano instead of thyme. Took a little bit longer to cook the onions than 10 min, and added the garlic closer to when the onions were done instead of at the same time (I hate burned garlic!. Used fat free sour cream and light cream cheese. Chilled overnight, stirred up and set out for a couple of hours. DELISH!!!!

Good dip, but the thyme made the dip taste like dirt...literally! Next time I make it I will not include thyme at all. Matter of fact, I don't put thyme in anything I make, because I can always taste that "dirt" flavor.

This dip was great! It is so much better and lighter tasting than using the heavy, powdered mixes. The only change I would make for myself next time is to replace the thyme with some cayenne pepper or something that I prefer over thyme. The thyme was a bit over-powering, but overall I loved the dip. I can't wait to make it again!

Pretty good dip. Easy to make, but the taste of thyme was really over-powering.
