This was a very easy dish to prep and cook. At the last minute, my dogs grabbed the raw filets off the table and gobbled them up! I had some fresh chicken breasts and cooked them instead of the filet. I also added some leftover spaghetti pasta to the sauce.

One of my favorite recipes EVER!!! I've made it several times and most recently made it for my bf's birthday dinner. He loved it and our guests did too! Make sauce very last and it will not separate on you :

I bought/tried porcinis for the first time to make this dish. I prefer the taste of Portobello or button mushrooms so I will try those mushrooms in the sauce next time. Plus they are cheaper and you do not have to rinse out a ton of grit! When warm, the oils (and there are A LOT in 1/2 c of mayo and 4 oz. of gorgonzola separated and did not look appealing. To rectify this, keep stirring or whisking the sauce and it will come back together as pictured.

I only used this recipe to cook the meat. I did not make the sauce. The meat is so tender you can cut it with a fork. This is a foolproof method and now I make my pork chops this way. Easy and delicious. Thanks.

EXCELLENT!! By far one of the best steak sauces Ive ever made... NOTE: if the sauce Does separate on you don't get frustrated, simply add a small amount of heavy cream and whisk together quickly... it will become creamy again and set perfectly even as it cools!! I used NY Strip for this (Thats what I had It was phenomenal just extended the time by 4 minutes in the oven, came out perfect because we like our meat Medium Rare. Thank you Giada for an AMAZING Anniversary dinner! My husband and I LOVED it.

I loved the Gorganzola mushroom sauce. In fact you really need to make a double batch to put on your potato, bread, salad or anything else you may be eating along with the meal. For those who did not like the sauce, you must be doing something wrong...do use a "better" brand of cheese, use a wine that you would drink and be careful not to let the sauce separate. (however with care you can get it back together Best sauce I have ever had!

The steaks were great, but the sauce had an unappetizing appearance and the mayonnaise really over powered the taste.

BEST steak I have ever had outside of a restaurant....& even in most restaurants as well!!!! The texture of the steak was perfect.....you didn't even need the sauce. BUT once you've tasted the sauce, there is no going back! All of my guest loved it so much I had to make more sauce for them!

This is a recipe to IMPRESS. I made this for a table full of guests and they loved it.
The rich, luxurious gorgonzola sauce is so delicious and creamy and adds so much flavor to the beef. I used beef tenderloin and it came out perfectly!
