Great flavor, used broccolini instead. Topped with cooked onions, yellow and red peppers, and panchetta. Served pork meatballs alongside. No leftovers :-

I had high hopes for this recipe, but it was just really unimpressive. Not bad, just boring. I also tried it as leftovers the next day hoping it would improve, but it didn't. But I did find out that my husband will eat broccoli rabe--so it wasn't a total waste of a bottle of wine!

Michael Chiarello gives another excellent recipe here. He is absolutely right when he says "If 50% of a dish is based on the looks, this is halfway there". This recipe will definitely wow your guests when they see the rich, vibrant color. Very easy to make. Very tasty, my wife couldn't believe the color of the pasta (she too thought it was made with beets.

This was so much fun! I don't usually like to cook with alcohol, but this was so much fun to make. I used shrimp and spinach instead of rabe, and it was wonderful! Thanks Michael, it was delightful!

I made this recipe with an average bottle of wine and since I couldnt find broccoli rabe, i used broccolini instead. It came out so great. I brought the leftovers into work and everyone wanted a taste after they smelled it! It's not as pretty when it's leftover, but it tastes just as good if not better.

I ate it with turkey meatballs on the side for a more complete meal. I will be making this again!

The rabe blends with the red wine for a wonderful flavor that is very easy to prepare.

I loved the idea of this recipe. When I tried it it just didn't seem to work. The wine got very starchy and the color didn't quite "take" to the pasta. Not much flavor. We added a fontina cheese and it was pretty good for a change from the standard spaghetti.

This is a good idea for a quick meal. I made it for my boyfriend and his brother and they loved it! It did not come out as red as I thought. A darker red wine would have been better.

Maybe I can have company at my house again. Being a veggie is a pain in the neck to many, but who wouldn't love this dish?
