I made this dish and thought it was really good! As for some of the negative reviews you just have to have "cooking common sense" I know that I don't like certain herbs and I know the potency of certain herbs so I adjust accordingly. I used fresh Italian parsley and added a pinch of Italian seasoning. I thought this was perfect, healthy and quick which matches my and my boyfriend's college lifestyle perfectly!

I used fresh tomatoes (rather than the paste and extra Romano. It was delicious! Be sure to add the pasta water or it will dry out.

I thought this recipe was very good. I always loved the combination of pasta/peas. I used fresh herbs and in place of the carrots I used fresh crimini mushrooms. Top it off with fresh grated cheese and fresh basil - delish!

My husband and I really did not like this recipe. It was easy and quick to make, but it had a flavor mix that just didn't go. The shallots, garlic, herbs, and tomato went fine together, as one might imagine, but the peas and carrots were not good for the mix. They seemed to be thrown in, just so there were some vegetables. I typically like Giada's recipes, but I will definitely not make this one again.

I didn't read the reviews before I made this dish. I cut the Thyme in half yet, it still overpowered the dish. I also used half the pasta called for. In the end, I was left with a dish I could have used a jar sauce on and called it a day. My advise to anyone making this would be to use the chopped tomatoes as suggested by some others and cut the thyme to 1/4 tsp., unless that's all you want to taste. I love Giada's dishes. I wonder if her 12 yr old niece, nephew or neighbor came up with this recipe.

I read the reviews first and decided to make just a few changes based upon what I read. I used a can, 14 oz, of diced tomatoes instead of tomato paste. I cut back the dried thyme to 1/2 teaspoon, and cut back the dried oregano to 1/4 teaspoon, then added 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper. I made the full amount of sauce, but used only half the pasta required. There was plenty of sauce and I only used 1/4 cup of pasta water total. It was quick, easy and wonderful. The flavors worked and the crushed red peppers gave it that extra touch.

This recipe was nothing special! We ended up ordering out because the dish was not tasty at all ........ the only thing you tasted was the thyme and it just overpowered the dish. I will definately not be making this dish again.
