This is quite possibly the easiest and best tasting tart I have ever made. When I can't get plums, I use pears, nectarines or apples. In any case it
is so delicious. As usual, my compliments to Ina Garten, who I believe is the best at whatever she does..simple elegant!

Tart was easy to make, looked great on the table, was tasty for my guests and provided a basis to add different fruits to provide variety.

This was defenitly very very easy but i don't think that the amount of sugar is correct, is not sweet at all and in the end It Is a dessert so it should be work without the ice cream that everybody is adding, another thing like more people wrote, the amount of mixture to put in the beginig is incorrect you should put 2 cups and the rest at the end, and also the baking time is too long, 35 minutes worked for me, in the end it was fun to make but i was very dissapointing in the lack of sweet!

I made this tart on several occasions with plums, pears, raspberries, and tomorrow I'll venture into chocolate! It always works so I'm going to push the envelope! I imagine it will taste like a decadent cany bar. We'll serve it with rich vanilla ice cream and start our diet in 2008!

The tart turned out amazing. It wasn't too sweet. But a nice spoonful of vanilla ice cream sweetened it perfectly.

I found plums on sale yesterday and wanted a dessert recipe. This plum tart is so easy and unbelievably delicious. I love brown sugar and walnuts (butter never hurts either. I had some frozen raspberries and put them around the plums. This is perfect warm with vanilla ice cream. It would also be perfect for brunch. As always, Ina is the best. Thanks for a great dessert, it's on my list of favorites.

The recipe called for 2 lb of plums but I found I only needed 1. I did everything according to directions and it looked, tasted, and came together beautifully. I just have a pound of prune plums leftover. Anyone else have this problem? Also to the commenter who said they thought it needed something-- add a pinch of salt to the dough. I'm not sure why it was omitted but a pinch of salt goes a long way to making pastry dough taste really nice.
