Great recipe!!! I had to omit the shrimp due to allergies but substituted with ground chuck and instead of bean sprouts added extra cabbage and carrots.. The family loved them and so did the church!!! I ended up making over 500 and they were gone in minutes. Awesome!

I may be too late to answer the person who wanted to know if rice wine could be substituted for sake, but just in case I would say "no" because rice wine is a vinegar which will give a sour taste. The best substitution for sake is mirin. If it is alcohol that is the reason then I would say to keep in mind that mirn only has 1% percent alcohol and will cook off during the cooking process. The only other thing would be to leave it out and add a bit of sugar to replace the sweetness that will be missing if not using sake. I hope this helps anybody that may still want to know. I learned this in culinary school so I am not guessing.

Seriously so good. I don't like deep frying so I browned them on all sides in olive oil and them baked them in the oven at 400 F for 4 minutes and they were heated through and brown and crispy! Definitely saving this recipe.

I made these last night for my boyfriend and his parents along with Emeril's egg drop soup and they loved it, especially his Mom...I kept sayin "Thank you Emeril!"...I also had fun making these! I did omit the shrimp but they tasted good without it. These can be a good appetizer for a party! I recommend them! You gotta try the egg drop soup too, Super easy to make! I would definitely try to make more of Emeril's recipes from now on!

Haven't made the egg rolls yet (though they sound great, but I made the sauce for a different recipe and it was a perfect balance or sweet, sour and spicy.

I only made the sauce and it was very good. one thing to remember is to make sure you use garlic chili sauce because i used the Sirracha just not the right one, it came out good and very hot

These were great. I had a pound and a half of roast pork in the freezer; thawed, chopped and tossed in the food processor to crumble. Heated through and then continued with the remainer of the recipe, omitting the shrimp. A hit with the whole family! Do try the sweet and sour sauce. It's easy and far superior to store-bought.
