WOW! Made this for my moms welcome home party i snuck a small sliver before the big day tomorrow, i didn't even make the sauce, you dont need it, DELISH!!!!! i'm not a big fan of pecan pie but the chocolate does some magic and the amount of sugar filling that you get with normal pecan pies is about half, great recipe and a definite keeper

I loved it. Made several pies this past holiday season. Very, very easy to make. Got the recipe memorized.

This recipe was even better after the pie had set overnight. It was nice a chocolatey, but not too sweet. I loved how the pecans on the top formed a sweet "crust" on top of the pie. We will definitely make this again!

A wonderful recipe. looks and tastes like it takes a long time to prepare, but it is oh so easy. Try it you will love it. My husband and son are now asking for it any time they get a chance.

Every Thanksgiving I have trouble finding a pie that my whole family will love. My brother doesn't like pumpkin pie and my dad doesn't like pecan pie. However, my dad LOVES chocolate. I decided to try this recipe to see if I could appease everyone....and it was a HIT! The chocolate was the key touch to make my dad love pecan pie. Everyone in my family said it must become a holiday staple every year. I followed the recipe precisely and then I added a pinch of cinnamon and splash of bourbon to the mixture before pouring it over the pecans/chocolate chips. I also took the advice many other reviewers suggested, and I used a deep-dish pie crust and wrapped the edges in foil until the last 10 minutes of baking. I baked for a total of about 55 minutes and it was PERFECT. My family raved and raved about it. I did not make the caramel sauce, but instead, whipped up some heavy cream to serve with it. Thank you, Emeril, for helping me finally create a dessert my whole family loves!

Red's Kitchen here: This recipe has become a holiday staple in our home, sometimes I have to bake 2 or 3 each year. I am not a fan of pecan pie, but even I can't resist this one. I've always been a little intimidated to bake pies, but this one is too easy and too good to pass on. The only change I've made to the recipe is, I find you get a better creamier texture if you beat your eggs with the sugar and syrup. I've done it both ways, and the texture is much better when all beaten together. I do use store bought pie shells, this way your prep work takes all of 15 minutes and you look like a superstar when the pie is done. I haven't tried the carmel sauce, but from the reviews, I see its not worth it. Hope you enjoy this pie as much as my family has!

I used mini chocolate chips and chopped pecans. It turned out great! For leftovers, it tastes better if it is warmed up in the microwave. I didn't make the caramel sauce, but it tastes yummy with whipped cream out of a can too :

I made this for Thanksgiving and this was fantastic and a big hit with my guests. The only alteration I made was I baked it in a tart pan rather than a pie pan and this prevented the burnt crust the other reviews referenced. It also looked really impressive because of the fluted sides the tart pan created. Definitely recommend this pie.

Best pie I have made. I prepared it for Thanksgiving a couple years ago and my family loved it! They even asked me to make it again for Christmas! Use a deep dish pie pan for the best results.
