For those who grew up in the St. Louis, Mo area this is the closest to the wonderful French Onion soup we would order at Famous Barr. What a great find. Enjoy the recipe.

Way too sweet.
Bore no resemblance to French Onion Soup.
Anyone who liked this needs to have their blood sugar tested.

Paula you have done it again with another great dish. There were two things I did different and they were, I used Alton Browns technique in an electric skillet when carmelizing the onions. I also did not add the flour because they were thickened and carmelized very nicely, outside of those I did follow everything else that was in the recipe. I also prepared the Croque Madame and served it alongside the soup. Delicious!

This had a wonderful flavor, but it just had too many onions in it for me.

This was the best French Onion soup that I've had this side of the Atlantic! I used shredded mozzerella cheese instead so I could put lots on, because I am a cheese lover! It was amazing, and I can't wait to make it again!!
