    ...but well worth it. Had some problems keeping oil temp. and therfore the last couple of pieces were burnt. I will make this again - it was very good.

    I was very enthusiastic about making this fried chicken recipe, but it wasn't what I thought it would be. The chicken came out tough and the coating was too hard. I even used an expensive electric fryer that I've always had great results with. I agree with the reader that said the oil temperature is too hot & it made the coating too dark, so I had to turn it down as well. I didn't use the herbs nor the peanut oil (would that make a difference with the texture of the coating anyways?, but by the outcome of the texture of the chicken I'm glad I didn't spend the money to do so. I wouldn't make this recipe again.
