I have made several other sweet potato biscuit recipes and this is now my favorite. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews about not rising but I didn't have any trouble. They were light and had a great flavor. I didn't overwork the dough and I used fresh baking soda

I've never made biscuits from scratch...always bought the Pillsbury ones. Let me say these were PERFECT!!!! I'm no Betty Crocker but I like to cook and I love to eat so I'm game for trying a little anything. I read the reviews about them not rising and didn't have that problem because of the reviews that discussed using the right flour. I didn't roll them out, I actually spooned them like cookies because I felt rolling dough would be too much for me. They tasted delicious and were the perfect addition to my Thanksgiving meal. I'll definitely make them again!!!!

It was very difficult to taste the sweet potato and I didn't like the basic biscuit recipe. I've had better.

I've made these so often that I know the recipe like the back of my hand. I have diebetes so I cook a lot of sweet potatoes and use the leftovers for these biscuits. For fun, I add herbs or raisins or pineapple tidbits. Any way you make them they are wonderful. THANK YOU PAULA!!!!

I added more leavening (baking soda, baking powder to this recipe to make them taller. Can't remember the exact measurements. I didn't think I had any baking powder, so I added baking soda instead, then I found baking powder and added a little bit of that. Worked great. Light and fluffy!

especially with the honey butter. I like taller, fluffier biscuits. The second time I made them, I made them thicker, but then the center was a bit doughy. All in all, I will continue to make these. A very creative recipe. :

I absolutly love this biscuit and the fact I am able to tweak it to my preference....

I used spenda instead of sugar as the sweet potatos are sweet enough....I added a little vanilla and cinnimon to go with the harvest flavor.....ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!

Alot of people are complaining htat they dont rise???? they are not suppose to rise a whole lot....they are a dense biscuit packed with flavor!

My biscuits rose....but remember....DO NOT OVERWORK THE DOUGH!! DO NOT KNEAD!!! Kneading creates gluten, which act like elastic bands, if you over work you will get a small, unrisen, chewy biscuit....HANDLE WITH CARE...

Thank you Paula for this recipie and allowing me to make it more heart healthy!

These worked out great with some Jerk Chicken. I was afarid to try them at first. I saw a lot of comments about them not rising, but I didn't expect them too cause they dont' have any yeast which gives biscuits that lift. So if your scared don't be! Very tasty.

Alright, no matter what you do..these biscuits really just don't rise all that much. I put in 2 tsp of baking powder and substituted white sugar with brown. Just because they don't rise doesn't mean they're not worth trying! I made these for my boyfriend's birthday and they were very, very good.
