I used self rising flour & no baking soda or powder. They were like hockey pucks!

VERY BLAND AND BISCUITS DIDN'T RISE VERY MUCH. I FOLLOWED RECIPE EXACTLY AS SEEN ON TV...BUT I'LL TRY AGAIN WITH BROWN SUGAR AND SOME SPICES.

Once again, Paula Dean makes a southern favorite easy for everyone. Follow the other reviewer instructions on eliminating the baking powder if oyu use the self rising flour. I used brown sugar, added some pumpkin pie spice, and used buttermilk instead of regular milk and they were an absolute hit. I did adjust the temperature of the oven to 425 as well to prevent overcooking on the bottom.

A little bland, could be more sweet potatoey. Rose okay, but could have been fluffier. Could have used some spicing up eg. nutmeg, molassas, chedder cheese perhaps . . . Overall, lackluster, but edible. They are biscuits after all.

I followed the recipe but left out the baking powder. They turned out very fluffy. I would have liked a little more flavor, so think I'll add a little more sweet potato next time. I used a store brand stick butter, and my honey butter didn't mix well.

We loved these. I am thankful I read the reviews first. I didn't add baking soda at all. They were wonderful!
