My grandson who is 15, is a Food network lover, and saw Paula make this cake. Copied it and with a little bit of my help, he has made it 3xs for Thanksgiving, for a book club desert, and for the Christmas table. All agree its wonderful.

Made this for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it. I already have 2 requests for Christmas parties. Super easy too!

I was disappointed with is recipe. It was too dry and probably needs to cook for only 45 minutes. It was a little to toasty. The flavor was there and it smelled wonderful while cooking. I will try it again it has potential.

It took longer than an hour to bake (middle was not cooked but man oh man was it worth the wait. I don't like spice cake or carrot cake so I used a box of cinnamon muffin mix instead. It turned out GREAT! To be really naughty, I whipped up some of Paula's home made cream cheese icing and put that on top. Woah momma, it was so good! Took one bite and couldn't even speak.

We make this cake with vanilla cake mix since my kids are not into the spice. It is great and very easy!

I made it last Saturday for a family brunch. It was a big hit. We were fighting over the last piece. I wasn't able to find Spice Cake Mix so I used Carrot Cake Mix instead. I also added raisons. It was wonderful.

So easy - love that you can use a box cake but make it special. My husband says it's one of the best cake's I've ever made.

Way too dry. We tried this one to take to our church bazaar. We dumped it and made an old style strawberry cake. Two losers on this program.
