simple, delicious what more can you ask. You can reduce the fat content by using 1/2 and 1/2 but anything less will render it insipid.
Medaglia D'Oro makes Instant Espresso and it is usually available in any large grocery store. Espresso Powder, I believe, is the same thing. Instant espresso belongs in everyone's pantry, it is a wonderful flavor lifter for a number of things: anything with chocolate for one.

What do you expect from a beautiful Italian cook like Giada.

Most simultaneously easy and delicious dessert I have ever made. Instead of espresso powder, I've found that instant coffee, like a packet of Starbucks Via, works just as well. It can easily serve 3-4 so don't bother doubling it unless you plan on eating a ton of it. It's meant to be a small dessert.

The chocolate toppings are a must because they cut the taste of the coffee and compliment it really well. I usually top it with whipped cream, and that makes it even better!

SOOOO Easy and delicious. I have big martini glasses, but this is 3 servings, not 2. I am never able to find espresso powder, but I use Instant Espresso, and it is just as good.

This recipe was so easy to make, and turned out perfect. I used a small strainer when pouring the mixture into martini glasses, which caught some of the espresso that had clumped.

The dessert is not only delicious, but I like it because it can be done in advance and taken out of the refrigerator after dinner. I had trouble finding the instant espresso powder and finally found it at an Italian specialty store.

I was looking for a simple dessert to make and this one is great! This is a great dessert that custard lovers would enjoy. Not only is this simple and yummy, but it has great base for other flavors. For example, going back to the flan, you could probably add some vanilla extract or beans in place of the espresso. Then you could make some caramel sauce and put some of that in the martini glass or ramekins and then add the custard on top. I bet a panna cotta flan would be better for you than making one with so many eggs. :D Another thing you could do is make it a chocolate flavor and add a brownie on the bottom. That would be so good!
