Peanut butter rules in our house so instead of the expresso powder, I substituted about 3 heaping tablespoons of Jif creamy PB. The PB melted quickly into the cream mixture. I also found using a wisk throughout the steps took away all lumps that other people wrote about and it turned out very creamy. So if you love PB, give it a try!

the coffee flavor was too strong for me. also, I stirred it every 20 minutes for the first hour as stated, but by the hour mark when I stirred it, it had gelled up a lot so it ended up lumpy and not smooth on the top. so I recommend stirring it just for the first 40 minutes instead of the first hour.

The consistency was interesting. It tasted like coffee yogurt meets flan. Nothing special.

This recipe is so easy it's almost sinful. It's also loaded with calories and artery-cloggers -- not something I would make very often. It has a stronger coffee flavor than I expected, although the chocolate shavings help moderate that. One recipe is way too much for two people -- it easily serves three to four.

This recipe is very easy. It is a light dessert that has a nice presentation when served in a martini glass. I would definitely recommend trying this!!!!

What can I say . . . it's Giada! This was wonderful. I did strain the milk/espresso mix before I chilled it. This removed any chunks of gelatin that remained in the pan. I also chilled it in a large bowl for the first hour so that I could stir it and not mess up my martini glasses. It didn't do much until the last 20 minutes, so be patient. I served it with fresh raspberries and the shaved chocolate for a girls' night and it was a huge hit, even for those who didn't really like coffee. Mmmmmmmm!

A serendipitous variation: I was too lazy to stir during the first hour, and just let it set continuously for 8 hours. It came out with 2 distinct layers that added to the experience for the family ... I made them think it was intentional :-
