Attempted to mak this recipe today. It was quite messy and the filling kept coming out of the manicotti noodles. probably would not attempt this one again. The meat mixture was somewhat bland to me.

I made a few changes the first time I tried this recipe. First, I replaced the cottage cheese with an equivalent amount of ricotta. The flavor was good, however, the amount of filling it produced was entirely too much for 14 manicotti shells. I'd say that if you're going to try this, use a a pint of ricotta rather than a quart.

The second change I made was that I baked them at 375F for 20 minutes and then I broiled them on low for 3 min at the end. When you take them out of the oven, immediately put a little parmesan cheese over them so it kind of melts into the crust.

With these changes, I really liked the way these turned out.

I love the Big Daddy show and up until now Aaron has been right on with every recipe I've tried. This one though I'm sorry to say is not very good. I agree with the other reviewer - looks like a good idea - but it's just not! The next day I tried to salvage the rest so I baked it with my marinara sauce but I still didn't love it.
If your craving fried pasta and cheese try Rachel's or Giada's fried ravioli - easy, simple and fast. This recipe took me an hour and half to complete. Sorry Aaron but I definitely wont make this again.

The recipe looks good on paper but the taste just wasn't there. There simply wasn't enough flavor, the pasta is chewy and we were extremely disappointed.

I made this for my family. They loved it. I loved it. I'm really impressed with not only this recipe, but others I've tried by by Mr. McCargo.

Hubby and I made these together adn even with 2 people the time it took was not worth the end result. I used my own marinara sauce, so that did save some time. They seemed heavy and drier than we had hoped. Maybe if we had added ore chesse, but I still do not think it would have complensated for the heaviness after being fried. I gave it a 3 becasue we had extra of the stuffed manicotti and used that as a traditional manicotti with marinara and chesse baked together.

I made this recipe yesterday for a dinner my husband and I were having for my mother-in-law's birthday. It turned out really great!!! I used chicken instead of beef. She loved it and so did we. I didn't think it was that time consuming, but then again my husband was helping me in the kitchen: Great Recipe, and super delicious!!! Everybody enjoyed it!!!
