Big Daddy...you are the man : Great soup. Used rotisserie chicken from grocery store & picked meat from that. Instead of pie crust, I used biscuits (the ones in the freezer section at grocery store& poured soup over that. Can use half & half if you want to lighten cream factor Much easier & still tastes just like a chicken pot pie.

So I really liked the concept of this. I was expecting it to taste like a chicken pot pie soup, but I wasnt expecting it to be exactly like a chicken pot pie by just pretty much making the inside part and leaving the crust off then serving it in a bowl like soup with the crust crumbled on top. So pretty much for me the only reason to make this recipe is just for a different presentation only. Great idea, but Id much rather just make a pot pie instead of serving it as a soup.

Soup was easy to make and tasted just like authentic chicken pot pie. I made this soup in the summer and it was absolutely delicious and I will be adding this to my list of regular recipes year round. The only change I made was that I used half and half instead of heavy cream to cut down on the calories, but the soup was just as good. I also seasoned the chicken breast before boiling with garlic powder, seasoned salt, black and cayenne pepper so it wouldn't taste so bland.

This soup was absolutely delicious! The only thing I changed was I used frozen chopped onion and potato so I didn't have to chop my own. The pie crust on top really brings an already tasty dish to a whole new level of yumminess! My whole family loved it. I will definitely be making this recipe again. Thanks, Aaron!

Fantastic & out of this world! Yes it makes a lot but gave some to neighbors who then requested copy of recipe.
I had roasted a garlic Lemon chicken (7 lbs and let the carcass and large pieces of chicken leftovers simmer in the water along with a couple smashed garlic cloves. Removed carcass, meat & garlic and let cool. Did follow advice of 1/4 cup oil & 1/4 cup butter for saute if onions/celery. Used 1/2 cup chopped onions & only 1 teaspoon of Italian Seasoning. Also recommend more than one pie crust!
