The fries came out great after a few adjustments. When cooking on the stove use high heat to achieve an even crunchy golden brown exterior to the potato. Pre-coat the baking pan with the oil. You want the oil HOT as soon as the fires leave the pan for the baking dish. The fires may need some more baking time depending on your oven's cooking abilities. So do not be afraid to check by tasting your food. Adjust as needed.

    SWEET POTATO WORKS WELL TOO!

I originally saw Tyler make them on tv. I have made them according to the recipe with great results. So of course, I had to adapt and play with it a bit ... I heat my oven to 460 - I think it off a bit, I heat the pan for at least 8 minutes, I heat the olive heat in a pyrex measuring cup in the microwave for 30 secs - then pour on the potatoes - I sprinkle about 2 tsp Ana's Herb's (http://www.anasfoods.com/products/herbs_3oz.php and mix - take the pan out of the oven and toss on the potatoes in a single layer. Into the oven for 30 min - turn them half way through. A thick sheet pan is absolutely necessary - I used a typical cookie sheet when I first started make these - then got a new thick pan and the fries are even crispier on the outside and soft potato on the inside. No reason to have deep fryer at all.

Ana's Herbs have lots of other uses - I give it as a hostess gift all the time - it is amazing stuff.

These were great! My hubby, kids and I ate these with homemade burgers. Delicious and very simple. Great as a snack, too.

So after reading the reviews about this recipe I wanted to give it a shot. The fries were pretty good, I cut them a little thinner I wanted them crisper. As one review said I put the oven on 450 degree for about 30 minutes, the last five minutes I switched to broil for extra crispiness. A little too much salt for my taste, but they still turned out so yummy, next time will make them with less salt, and maybe a little less oil too.

Made 2 batches of these last night for my stepsons, and they they ate them all. The fries turn a beautiful golden color (I just turned mine once during cooking, and all of them were nice and soft on the inside and a little crispy on the outside. The most beautiful fries I have ever made!

I noticed when watching the show, Tyler oiled the baking sheet after it was hot. He also said oven temp 450. This is how I made them and they were great. I omitted the cheese just to cut back on fat. I do think the oil amount he calls for is correct and not too much like others noted but thats just my preference. The werent greasy at all and browned wonderfully. Thanks Tyler

These fries were a BIG hit at my house. They were so crispy and golden outside but very tender inside. A wonderful change from greasy french fries.
This recipe is a keeper. Thanks Tyler, I love your show !!!

I decided to make these as an afterthought to go along with my turkey burgers and it came out great! Crispy on the outside and fluffy and moist on the inside. The great thing about this recipe is that you can play around with the ingredients and make it your own. Delicious and very easy! Will definitely make again!
