As noted by earlier review, the sauce is bland even after adding extra amounts of ingredients to add flavor and the recipe makes way too much. The "tweaks" needed are so many, it will be easier to find another recipe.

It was really good...but I made some alterations...first I added less chicken broth (or more of all the other ingredients...however you want to look at it and instead of adding plain hot sauce I added some of the garlic-chili sriracha sauce/paste. I also added in some fresh lime juice. Then I substituted a little jalapeno and bean sprouts for the green pepper...and added some diced chicken...so I guess it was quite different from the receipe...but it came out really good :

I'm not sure I would have recommended to use Somen noodles with this recipe since the noodles are usually smaller than angel hair pasta. I probably would have recommended to use dried udon noodles which have a bit more substance and not risk breaking up the noodles too much with the tossing and so forth. Fresh udon although much more hefty would probably work just as well. That said, the recipe is super simple and delicious for the effort involved. Luckily I had most of the ingredients already so the expense was also minimal. I would certainly recommend this recipe and will be making it again for my usually picky 9 year old.

Was craving something Thai and this was my pick. Sauce is a little too runny for my taste, amped it up by adding lots more peanut butter and hot sauce (since I love food with a kick and adjusted other ingredients to taste. It was perfect, it was an instant hit with my friends and I will definitely make again

My son love this recipe. One thing that is great with any recipe, if you find the basics of the recipe weak one can tweak it. I guess some people just don't know how to think outside of the box when making stuff.

Once I could no longer get the somen noodles at the store I switched to angel hair noodles the whole 16 oz box which soaks up all the sauce. If you find it a little bland, hey add more hot sauce, Not enough peanut butter add more! I love sesame oil so I add more.

To the person who threw out some sauce....did you read to the end of recipe as to what to do with the rest of the left over sauce.

This looked good on paper, but as I was preparing it, I realized how off the ingredient ratios are. I realize this is meant to be a quick and easy version of a Thai dish, but it misses the mark by a lot.

The most obvious issue is that there is far too much liquid in the sauce. Three cups of broth to two tablespoons of peanut butter and soy? I'm unsure if that's a mis-type or if that was the original intent of the creator, but it resulted in a watery sauce where the flavors got lost in the over-abundance of chicken broth. The called-for amount of broth only reduces a little with 10-15 minutes of simmering, and the recipe only indicates adding one cup to the dish. I was left with nearly two cups of extra sauce that went into the sink.

I think with a few tweaks, like 12oz of broth and a little more peanut butter served with a soba noodle, this could be pretty tasty.

There has to be a problem with this recipe. It was tasteless. I believe adding the peanut butter sauce took all the flavor away from the shrimp. Very disappointing - can the recipe police please check this out?
