Unless I followed the directions wrong, this recipe did not turn out the way I thought it would - it was too dry even after a day.

I made this for my husband and our best friends and it was wonderful! I used angel food cake instead of pound cake but it was still great. Can't wait to make it again!

The flavor was good on this, and it was very quick and easy to make. I had some difficulty with the texture of the mascarpone cheese, and overall the Trifle seemed a little dry. I think it might be better if it was made the day before and let to sit overnight so that all the flavors would absorb a little better. While it was good, it did not have the Wow factor I thought it would.

Enjoyed this as it was appealing to the eye and the stomach. I took a short cut, buying a boxed pound cake mix. I made 2 cakes while I was at it and froze one. As I could not use the Creme de Cassis, I made my own liquid using a jar of black currant jam, water, and a little rum extract. It brushed on nicely. I added a little sugar to the strawberries. Everyone loved it.

I changed some things in the recipe. I don't like pound cake, so i use angel food cake instead is a lot more moist. I use raspberries instead of strawberries. I think the flavor of the raspberry complements the lemon mascarpone cheese better. Also made made a raspberry sauce and added whipped cream. I layered the trifle as follow: angel food cake in the bottom, brush the cake with just a little bit of rum (cognac works good too, raspberry coulis (made from frozen raspberries in syrup, sugar and a little bit of lemon juice,lemon-mascarpone cheese, whipped cream and fresh raspberries, repeat until you reach the top, finish with raspberries on top. I think you will love it.

I wanted to try this dessert, but since I will probably not use Creme de Cassis for anything else, didn't really feel like buying a whole bottle. I made a little extra of the lemon juice/sugar syrup and pureed it with some strawberries. I used this on the pound cake and didn't have any problems with dryness. A lot of the bowls used for trifles are very big, so if your bowl is big, you may want to make 1 and a half or double this recipe, as my trifle looked pitifully small in my trifle bowl. I really liked this dessert and because the strawberries are so beautiful right now, it is a fantastic summer dessert. I will definitely make it again!

This recipe was so quick and easy to make! I found the recipe around noon and was serving it for dessert that evening. It's light and tasty for a summer evening treat. I used strawberries and blueberries and it was quite the hit on the Fourth of July. I absolutely recommend it. Yummy!!
