this dessert is so easy and delish! i am lucky enough to have a meyer's sweet lemon tree, so i used one large one (they're very juicy--maybe that helped with the dryness that others complained of. i also substituted limoncello liquer instead of creme de cassis, so it was extra tart and lemony, and i soaked the cake very well. got rave reviews at easter dinner!

I read the earlier reviews before I made this dessert and tried to compensate for what they described as dry. It was still no help. It was tasty but you needed water to get it down. Only the very bottom was moist (after sitting on the buffet table for 2 hours Don't think I'll be making this again.

This recipe is so bright and beautiful. The lemon adds a special zest to the dish to give it more depth. Very good!

This was a great dessert. I actually mixed the mascarpone mixture with hand-whipped cream. I let it sit overnight and it was fabulous. Everyone loved it.

I almost used a faux marscapone recipe to save money. But I found that if you have a Trader Joe's in your area, you can get the Bel Gioso marscapone cheese for about $2.99 (of course, you'll need two packages for the recipe. I went to Beverages and More to get the Creme de Cassis (I bought the cheapest brand and it worked fine. I did mascerate (spelling? the strawberries in the liquer to avoid that dryness others mentioned. Anyway, it was delicious--my guests ate every last bite--cleaned me out! My 7-year-old liked it too (9 year old refused as he hates strawberries. Next time it will be cheaper to make as now I have the liquer.
