I attempted to make this recipe because of the great reviews, followed everything, except the nutmeg because I dont like nutmeg and it came out ok, edible but not AMAZING. Like I was hoping for. I worked so hard on this for nothing. What a dissapointment. I even attempted to make a honey glaze and the glaze came out great but the donut was what tasted horible. :( Sad to say, I guess Ill be trying a yeast recipe. All that work for nothing.

Didnt have nutmeg, doubled the cinnamon and it tasted great! Having a cutter is key to your sanity, so if you don't just go for donut holes! Was very very good (did revised version and topped with chocolate glaze.

I have been looking for a great but simple donut recipie for some time...FOUND IT with the scaled down version! I didn't roll the dough out on the table, instead I used a spoon to scoop a bit out and then dusted it with flour to roll into a ball - then deep fried them until golden brown and rolled in sugar. My family loved them and I will be making them often!
