Fantastic!! I am from Spain and I love Iberian Ham. Here in USA is very dificult to find it but I do it in mariscoiberico.es/iberian-ham directly from Spain, best quality and at the same price that you pay in Spain!! Wonderfull"

I fixed this for dinner because I'm just starting out trying to learn how to really cook. My parents loved it and I thought it was really good! However, because of the cost of the cheese we substituted in swiss cheese and I have to say I normally don't like peppers but in this case, a very good meal!

Do you want to make it even more yummy? For this recipe I prefer Iberico ham, you might find it also as jamon iberico. I know it is expensive but the trick is to buy the foreleg called shoulder or paleta rather than the ham (backleg. Paleta or shoulder is much cheaper and for sandwiches, pittas, rolls and ?hand food? a wonderful alternative.
I buy my iberico ham at Buyjamon.com

BuyJamon.com the market place for iberico ham.

I'm not one to write reviews on recipes but felt the need to in this case. There is one word to sum up the taste of these sandwiches...Gross~!. I decided to make this recipe based on all the positive reviews. I used the ingredients that are called for although I had to use prosciutto ham because my store doesn't carry the other kind. What was nice about this recipe is it's simplicity in the number of ingredients BUT add up the cost of the ingredients and you have a pricey meal. The cheese alone cost $11 and that was for the smaller block. Then you still need 1/2 pound of ham which costs $6, peppers, and the bread. Combine these ingredients and everyone in my family agreed that the taste is awful. For the money it costs I'd suggest buying a good steak & throwing that on the grill instead.

I've made these sandwiches several times both for guests and for my picky teenagers. Love them! Can't mess them up, just be sure to use the real thing (Serrano ham, Manchego cheese, Piquillo peppers... I'm from Barcelona and had never tried that combination. Delicious. Thanks, Rachael

Just made these sammies. Really, really good. This will become a family favorite. I couldn't find the cheese in recipe so I had to subsitute with a good provalone. Turned out great.

Thanks for the great recipes you share :

This was the first time I ever used proscuitto in a recipe and I found it to be a bit salty. It could be the brand I bought but I shouldn't have put more than 1 thin slice on each sammy. Next time I'll buy a different brand and see if that helps. The sammy was tasty and a nice change of pace from the usual pb and j or ham and cheese.
