I made this recipe exactly as stated and it came out really good. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I thought the melted white choc made the brownies too rich. Next time, I would use a lot less white choc, and shave it instead. The salted nuts are a must. As for other comment reviews about the brownie being better the next day was my experience too. This brownie should be served at room temp.

Giving five stars to offset those who gave 1 star simply because a mix was used. I also always do this when someone gives a bad review due to fat content, non existing nutritional info, substituting ingredients and not liking the results, etc. If you can't follow the recipe or don't like the ingredients, just don't make it and leave the recipe and its creator alone.

Thanks, Giada, for giving us a shorter route to preparing this excellent dessert. I'm also a chef (Cordon Bleu, London who, for many years, made brownies from scratch ... until I tasted Duncan Hines! I added 1 tsp. Grand Marnier to the jam and put shaved white chocolate on the brownies then covered loosely with foil and returned to the oven for a minute. Served this, along with your superb raspberry tiramisu, the last time I had a dinner party and received many compliments.

I made these the other night and they were so good and really easy to make.! I have to admit though, I used more the method than the actual recipe. My box mix uses 3 eggs for CAKE-LIKE (which I'm not a fan of so I followed the recipe for the regular, chewy style and then swirled in seedless raspberry jam. I baked per the box mix directions. I ended up "icing" them with the white chocolate. I really don't understand why there's so much criticism about using the boxed mix, I actually liked that it did! I'm a new mom, so this really cut the prep time in half for a bite of something sweet without having to measure everything!! Yes, she went to culinary school...so what? She's not allowed to use a shortcut once in a while? She's also a mom who probably (like most of us wants to make something good but still have time to spend with her family. I'd like to know if everyone that made comments about the box mix actually cooks FROM SCRATCH every single night? Give me a break!

The recipe looked delicious so I decided to make them for my church picnic. I used homemade raspberry jam and they turned out moist, rich and very yummy. To my suprise I beat out everyone else (I'm only 15! and took first place. Everyone loved them! Thank you Giada!

Not bad, but not worthy of such a high rating. In fact, I wouldn't waste a perfectly good brownie mix to make these again. I much prefer Mr. D. Hines' recipe over Giada's.
