Made these this morning. Cupcakes and icing taste good. Used Mr Christie chocolate wafers and they worked great. Had a little trouble getting my cutouts to keep a cone shape for the top of the hat, but people got the point when I served them this afternoon. I didn't find the icing too overbearing in flavor, but I had to use way too much to make the face look decent. Had to use ALOT of food coloring to get a good green color in the icing. Overall I was happy :

Great recipe! I made it super easy by using a boxed cake mix, the frosting recipe worked out great. Fluffy with good flavor, my arms killed by the time I was done mixing the 4 cups of sugar in, however I ended up needing all the frosting for my cupcakes. They were a hit!

Yuk! The frosting asked for WAY TOO MUCH PB. It was so heavy. It was discusting. The cupcakes were fine, except it was difficult to dig out the center. Overall, I would never try make these again.

I haven't made this yet, but based on others comments, feel it will be a 5 star recipe. To babyglock911: I plan to use Hershey's Candy Kisses for the top of the hat and will not need to make a cone out of the cake---much easier and will be just as cute.

The cupcakes were a dream, very simple. The frosting was easy as well but for me this recipe called for too much PB. I suggest using only half of the PB and replacing that half with more cream cheese. The cones were extremely difficult to cut out. I had to improvise my smushing them into shape with the crumbs from trying to cut out the cones. I had to add more powdered sugar to get the shape of the heads right. I wouldn't recommend this for a beginner! (haha Tastes great though, very messy. PS I used Keebler's Grasshoppers instead of the chocoalte waffers, can't find those anywhere!!!

I can give stars only for the presentation and fun to make. My daughter was thrilled! They looked amazing! However, no one ate them. I ended up throwing all of them out after a week. I don't know if it was peanut butter frosting that people were not fond of or what, however, it wasn't a hit for flavor. Next time I would substitute cream cheese for peanut butter.

I made some similar to these but with marshmallo's for the heads. Now my question is where can I get Chocolate wafer cookies? My daughter and I went to 5 different stores in Reno, Nevada and couldn't find one box anywhere.. So what I did was melt some chocolate, put wax paper down on the table and then made little circles for the rim of the hat and also put a small peanut butter cup on top of that with a kiss on top which made the hat. They came out pretty cute..
