    I have made this recipe many times before and my family loves it. Today I made it using tilapia and followed the same directions with the salmon, but because it is thin I fully cooked it on the stove about 3 minutes per side. This was served on a bed of baby arugula, lentils, tilapia and a dollop of plain greek yogurt. Absolutely delicious. Thank you, Ina.

    My family loved this one. We had never had lentils before. I am one to forget things and have forgotten the vinager both times I have made this and it is still wonderful. We liked this one so much I will be trying another Ina lentil recipe this week. Thanks Ina.

    I'm not the biggest salmon lover, but this dish was delicious. Loved the earthiness of the lentils paired with the richness of the fish. I felt like a true chef putting this finished dish on the table.

    I never had lentils before I made this recipe. Awesome! You can get french lentil either at Whole Foods or Fresh Market. I make this recipe often!

    I have made this several times - both for family and for guests. It is always a hit. I follow the recipe exactly. I served it to guests last night with a small green salad and roasted asparagus. All plates were clean at the end of the meal!

    This recipe seems so simple, and yet creates really amazing depth of flavor. Very easy to make. I added a bay leaf and a little bit of red pepper flakes for a little bit of a kick. I did have to add a little more liquid to the lentils and cook them a little bit longer than stated in the recipe, but this may have been because I couldn't find the french lentils and just used the regular ones. Definitely give this a try - and don't forget the red wine vinegar at the end. It doesn't make the lentils taste vingar-y or sour - it just wakes up all the other flavors and makes it extra delicious.

    so good. let's just say I created an account just to comment here to tell everyone how great this was! it was super easy to make and is such a healthy and filling dish! the salmon was perfectly done! who knew lentils could be so good?

    Fabulous! Even my picky husband liked it. I raided the pantry, had almost all of the ingredients. Used a large red onion, red pepper flakes, dried thyme and boxed stock. Added balsamic vinegar 20 minutes before end of cooking time. Even with all these unavoidable adjustments the lentils were firm and very flavorful, a winner! Thanks Ina.
